Each month the studio will feature one yogi who demonstrates commitment to their practice and brings enthusiasm and positive energy with them. This month’s featured student is Holly.
Holly has been practicing Bikram for about four months, beginning when she saw the Groupon advertisement. From the start she has enjoyed the 90 minutes of “me time” that yoga provides, but found the challenge in accepting “all the sweating!” It was never so much about the heat, as the sweat; however “after the first few classes [she] stopped thinking about it” and simply appreciated the dedicated time for herself, wishing she’d found this yoga years ago.
Holly’s favorite postures include Half-Tortoise and Standing Bow, while her least favorite is Standing Head to Knee. She has a wonderful daughter Emilie, a dog named Lex and works for US Bank. She loves baking, shopping and working on her home.
She was chosen as this month’s featured student because of her deep commitment to the practice of yoga, coming in five times per week. She works on her practice every day and always leaves with a smile, promising “See you tomorrow!” According to studio owner Chelsea:
Holly has come a long way in her stillness and focus – Bengal tiger strength and bulldog determination are something she has learned to give to herself. She and her daughter share the practice and are an amazing mother/daughter duo in the yoga room. Holly is a great role model for her daughter and brings great character to the studio!
Congratulations Holly! And thank you for sharing your practice with all of us! Namaste.
